It seems that we fight for the same cause on opposite sides of the globe.
Although polygamy was about to end in the modern Iraq, the political mess of the new millennium has introduced us into a new age of politicized misogyny.
The new mutations of Islamism into an uncontrolled beast has made most feminists and egalitarian of the Middle-East lay low.
A few of us are still determined to stand against them and tell the whole world that we, the women in Iraq, reject polygamy, paedophilia (of female children), and submission.
I personally have gained a reputation at that, but it always comes with a high cost. Our current "democratic" constitution has given way to polygamy while it was penalized before the occupation.
You have an ally and a supporter in Iraq.
Keep on leading the struggle for women's liberation and do not wait for appologists to make you stronger. You do not need them.

Americans Against Abuses of Polygamy*******PRESS RELEASE*******Announcing the “Texans Know a Load of Corn When They See it, Oprah!” photo op
Americans Against Abuses of Polygamy’s 2009 Friends and Survivors picnic will be held in San Angelo, Texas on June 27th at Glenmore Park, at noon. There will be many survivors of American polygamy present, hoping to meet Texans and explain the realities of the abuses they experienced, in person.
In 1953, the State of Arizona raided the polygamous community of Shortcreek, in what is now Colorado City Arizona, home of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints, currently led by Warren Jeffs, alleging abuse of underage girls, forced to engage in sexual relationships with much older men, under the guise of, “celestial marriage”.
After the Arizona raid, the FLDS leadership responded with a concerted public relations campaign to show America how normal polygamy is.
A piece in LIFE Magazine was the turning point in the public relations war, winning sympathy from across America, and calls for the FLDS to be left alone to practice their quaint religion, which apparently harmed no one.
The man on the front page of LIFE, shucking corn with his concubines, who won the PR war for the FLDS, was Clyde Mackert.
Over 50 years later, we will recreate that scene, at our Friends & Survivors picnic, with smiling corn shucking survivors, backed by Texans around a sign that reads, “Texans Know a Load of Corn When They See it, Oprah”!
Although, this time Kathleen and Rena Mackert, daughters of Clyde Mackert, still unborn at the time of the photos, will be there among the survivors, front, and center. Both escaped polygamy, and both were sexually molested their entire childhoods, by the same smiling, corn shucking man who won the last national PR war for the FLDS.
We will send the photo from LIFE Magazine with ours, to Oprah Winfrey; because we think she is playing the role of LIFE Magazine for the FLDS. Her exclusive interviews inside the YFZ Ranch, a year after the Texas raid, were full of softball questions and concentrated on bread baking and the family nature of the FLDS. She went on to ad her opinion that the U.S. prohibition against the cultural practice of polygamy should be re-examined.

Facts are Funny Things
A friend dropped by the blog this week. She read the postings and wrote me a note saying essentially ‘This is why I don’t blog. You cannot reason with some people.’ She spoke of being personally attacked in the past and I understood her stance, for sure.
I told her I didn’t mind being attacked, and that it was my belief that the more rope you gave someone...
I’ve certainly never attacked anyone’s rights to practice their faith. This is a free country. I don’t care if someone wants to worship dirty socks hanging from the low branches of a tree in their back yard. They can ascribe all the power in the universe to the socks for all I care.
They can build a shrine, kneel and pray, offer tithes, offerings and hold group devotional meetings for the socks. They can bring their children to the socks teaching them how the socks created the universe and hold all the power in it.
But the day the adults tell children in the group that the dirty socks want them to disrobe and submit to sex acts in the sock’s name my tolerance for religion ends and my desire to see criminals prosecuted begins.
My investigation of Colorado City had nothing to do with religion and everything to do with abuse and polygamy.
Just as they did after the Arizona raid in 1953, the FLDS has waged a concerted PR effort to sway the public to believe they were persecuted for their religion, rather than prosecuted for their abuse.
When you present the American public with the facts of polygamy, worldwide, Colorado City seems to have the very same problems that crop up in every single known polygamous culture already in existence. Even though the religious beliefs behind the practice differ from culture to culture, the abusive results don’t.
Islamic polygamy produces exactly the same results. They have different gods, different religions, and the same practice of polygamy.
All polygamous cultures exhibit these characteristics
Child Brides
Child labor issues
Pedophilia of female children
Control and limitation of women’s freedom in choice of: life partner, movement, speech, dress, education, career, birth control, and virtually every other aspect of private life
High infant mortality rates
Families in gross poverty
Colorado City, Arizona is the largest all polygamous community operating in the United States of America. If my supposition is that polygamy is abusive by nature and I wanted to look at an American group of practicing polygamists to know for sure, what better place in America is there to look?
So why is it so surprising that I would want the public to know the facts, by the numbers, of what is happening in Colorado City, Arizona, USA?

A Failed Challenge
I received an answer a couple of days ago to the challenge I have issued, for anyone to show me another city in the United States, of the same size, which has the same child death rate as Colorady City, Arizona, home of the FLDS.
Here is the resonse to the challenge:
I accept your challenge in regards to explaining the number of children ran over by cars in Colorado City.According to the NTSA the per-capita child pedestrian fatality rate is 1.6 per 100,000. Using their formula the rate for Colorado City is 1.79 per 100,000. Colorado City has a marginally higher rate than the rest of the country.This minute increase can easily be attributed to there being more children in that population than in other areas. For instance you used Lake Havasu so I'll use that population as well. Colorado City has 3.28 times more children age 15 and under than Lake Havasu. With over 300% more children there are going to be more incidences of any nature involving children.I look forward to your reply.

Are you telling me that Colorado City, Arizona has more children in it than the entire state of Connecticut? Just to be fair I compared Colorado City to an entire state, which had the same number of deaths, in the same time period.
Also, ma'am, you have failed to meet my challenge by showing me another city in America, of the same size, which mirrors the phenomenon of the Colorado City cemetery, which is over 50% bodies of children.
Nine deaths by non-traffic accidents in the same time period as Connecticut, a state with over 3 million people?
The entire state of Connecticut with a population of 3,405,565 in 2000, had a total number of child deaths, caused by cars in non-traffic accidents, in the same time period [ie being accidentally run/backed over in a driveway] 1990-present of 9, yet they have over 800,000 children under 18 living in their state, while the city of Colorado City, AZ has only 2,782.
This means Connecticut children have an 0.11% chance of being killed in this manner, whereas the children of Colorado City have a 32.35% of dying the same way. One number is minuscule and the other enormous.
Do you honestly think that’s normal? Is your argument the same as the residents of Colorado City, which is that more of their children die because they have more of them?
I’ll tell you the same thing I told a Mohave County Supervisor who used the very same illogical argument, “I can see if you are raising a lot of chickens how you might run over a few here and there. But children? Just because you have more children per household, doesn’t mean you accidentally kill more children. Or, maybe it does.
Maybe I am right and polygamy as a lifestyle is very dangerous to children, because there are too many of them to properly supervise. That means there is, at the very least, some indication of neglectful supervision of the children of polygamy in Colorado City.
Colorado City, Arizona does not have more children than the state of Connecticut, 2,782 is not more than 800,000 no matter how you cut it. Yet there are 800,000 children in Connecticut, raised by single or two-parent families, who are obviously much safer than the 2,782 children in Colorado City, raised in polygamy.
I would very much like to thank you for giving me the idea to contact the NTSA about these odd numbers.

Dead Children in Mohave County
Since dontkeepsweet mentioned the cemetery and the child deaths in Colorado City I thought I'd make a quick post to get conversation started.
Also, since receiving her suggestion the AAAP has been made aware of yet another recent and odd decision by the leaders of Mohave County, which leaves children less protected from preditors but I'll address that in another post.
As far as the child deaths in Northern Mohave County, I think in large part, the raw numbers speak for themselves.
The state of Arizona gave me as an investigator every reason to believe that they would purposefully shut down any investigation into the deaths of children in the polygamist community of Colorado City.
Until a federal task force is given the order to look into it, I believe nothing will ever be done to attempt to explain why the children of Colorado City are so accident prone, or why no case of domestic violence has ever been prosecuted there.
I was struck by something Flora said this week. It rang as clear and true as a bell the moment I heard it, "When people abuse children you can bet that animals are also suffering, because human preditors always start on animals."
And I instantly remembered this story:
It was 1873. Mary-Ellen was 9 years old when a church worker, Mrs. Etta Wheeler, who had been asked to visit the family, found Mary-Ellen shackled to her bed, grossly malnourished, scarred and badly beaten. Mrs. Wheeler was so appalled by what she saw that she went to the authorities to report this horrifying child abuse. The authorities turned her away.But Mrs. Wheeler refused to take no for an answer; she petitioned the American SPCA.Animals were protected, but children were not.Mrs. Wheeler appealed to the ASPCA that children were members of the animal kingdom, and must therefore be protected. It was on these grounds that the ASPCA did finally intervene.Mary-Ellen was removed from her abusive home, placed in foster care, where she thrived. She went on to marry, have 2 daughters, and Mary-Ellen lived to the age of 92.For more information about Mary-Ellen, the history of child abuse has more details.
People with a criminal lack of empathy or compassion usually practice on the most innocent, meaning animals, before moving on to children. If they can gain an animal's trust, and torture it, or successfully kill it, they know they can move on to a child, gain its trust and make it do what they want, too.
These are the kinds of things that run through my head when I think of polygamy in Colorado City, Arizona...like the Day Warren Jeffs had every dog, including every family pet in town, rounded up and shot in the streets, because a child in the community had died when attacked by dogs.
When I stand in the Babyland Cemetery or look at the pictures, or stare at the cemetery lists, I see something wrong that no one even seems to care one wit about. I see lots and lots of dead children, with no one explaining "why" at all. As an investigator, I see a cover up. It is really that simple. Every agency, state or local that I contacted gave me a run around. Every single one wanted desperately to stay "off the record" with any comment at all that might seem like they endorsed enforcing any laws or looking into the polygamist community's history of abuse.

Mohave County Health Department: Dead End
Mohave County Attorney's Office: Dead End
Mohave County Board of Supervisors: Dead End
Read Flora's book. The Arizona government has no intention of ever taking on polygamy, and they are proud of it. They allow this entire group of people to break federal laws, with no intension of ever prosecuting a one of them. They consistently work with polygamists to help them gain custody of their children, even when they have run away and are begging the state CPS system for protection from their parents and polygamy.
The AAAP considers all women and children of this nature to be American citizens with the right to flee sexual slavery and American concubinage. Any government official known to have participated in the violation of civil or human rights of one of these women or children will be noted and publicly exposed.
