SC Johnson Company Does the Right Thing

An update from my friend, Doris Hanson with the Shield and Refuge ministry, which serves those victimized by the illegal practice of polygamy:

I sent a complaint to SC Johnson Company about advertising on TLC's Sister Wives, here is their answer:

Thank you for contacting SC Johnson regarding our TV advertisements. As a family company, it is our goal to provide good, informative ads and we select those programs and/or networks that make the most sense given our consumer base. In this instance, we never intended to advertise for any of our brands during this program as its profile doesn't fit with the kinds of programs we consider. The placements were a mistake made by the network.

We appreciate that you took the time to share with us something that is important to you.

Regards,

Consumer Relationship Center
SC Johnson

If you have time, please send SC Johnson Company a great big "Thank you!"

You can send them a note using the contact form. The tab is at the top of their home page here.

The Perils of Polygamy
by
May 21, 2012
Recent empirical research suggests that, in virtually every respect, polygamy is socially detrimental—to society in general, to men, to women, and to children.
In the course of history, approximately 85 percent of societies have practiced polygamy. Pushed by advocates of same-sex marriage and multiculturalism, some scholars, such as the signers of “Beyond Gay Marriage,” argue that it is irrational and bigoted for contemporary society to limit marriage to just two people. However, there is no bigotry in treating different things differently, and there are many important differences between polygamy and monogamy in practice as well as in principle.

Corrupt Arizona Politicians

Nancy McLain ( R) District 3. House of Representatives
1700 W. Washington Room 344. Phoenix, AZ 85007.
Phone Number: (602) 926-5051
"Things are changing up there, and it just doesn't seem fair to go backward in time when things are opening up," said McLain, a Bullhead City Republican who also represents Colorado City."
Rep. Doris Goodale (R).  House Wing, Room 310 1700 W. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ 85007. Telephone Number: (602) 926-5408"These are not multiple married individuals. They are married to one individual, and the others are celestial, spiritual wives," Goodale said Colorado City only offers an alternate lifestyle and does not practice multiple marriages and that polygamy is not illegal. She also said the bill is special legislation that targets only Colorado City.

There are loads of corrupt Arizona politicians but these two are at the top of my "Hall of Shame" list this week. Calling a politician corrupt is a big allegation. Why am I not afraid to call both of these women "corrupt politicians"? Because they are blatantly corrupt to the crime of polygamy.

They have refused to hear the victims who have been enslaved, raped, kidnapped, molested, beaten or starved by polygamist criminals. They have refused to listen to the top law enforcement officer of their own state. Even though ample evidence exists that the Colorado City police department is loyal to Warren Jeffs, and not the law, they protect evildoers, who have cooperated in the capture of women and girl children attempting to escape Colorado City. They have assisted in the transfer of uncooperative "wives" to mental institutions in Flagstaff and Phoenix. They have beaten activists in the street and driven young boys and men from the community. There is no justice or equal protection under the law at the end of a 911 call in Colorado City, Arizona, because Warren Jeffs might as well be the one who answers the phone!

Interviewed recently, both women were asked why they failed to support a bill that would have closed the Colorado City police department and allowed the Mohave County Sheriff's office to take over the law enforcement duties there.

Both women have been spending time with a lobbyist bought and paid for by a convicted felon's "church." Warren Steed Jeffs has been sentenced to life in prison, plus twenty years by a Texas jury, but the state of Arizona continues to allow Jeffs to run his criminal Mormon cult organization from his cell. And Doris and Nancy are listening to a lobbyist that Warren Jeffs is paying for....hmmmm. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Dear Doris and Nancy,

A big statue of the convicted child rapist, Warren Steed Jeffs, is about to be erected on the YFZ Ranch in Schleicher County, Texas, outside of tiny Eldorado. It is estimated to be at least 60 feet tall and consist of the image of the child rapist himself, Warren Jeffs holding the hand of a small girl dressed in a prairie skirt in one hand and a big Book of Mormon in the other.

I'll make sure and post the link when this monstrosity goes up, right in front of the giant amphitheater, which is larger than Madison Square Garden. You can see it here.

I hope y'all don't think too much about all those dead children in the ground in your district when you try to sleep at night, like I do.
